It's hard to believe, but we are less than a month from NAIFA's National Leadership Conference and Belong awards celebration. This is an important event for all NAIFA leaders to attend. Not only does it recognize you for your dedication and hard work, but it also provides an opportunity to interact and learn from other chapter leaders, NAIFA's national volunteers, and staff. NLC is where we share ideas and get up to speed on everything NAIFA. It's also a lot of fun. We renew our connections with old friends and make new ones who share our passion for NAIFA and the insurance and financial services profession.

Be sure to be there! Help us celebrate you and your fellow leaders as well as our national award recipients. And don't forget: We will be in Washington, D.C., and NAIFA has organized a Day on the Hill for December 5. You and your fellow leaders will meet with members of Congress and senior staff. This will be our first major grassroots event since the Department of Labor published its renewed push to limit consumer choice and radically alter the financial services industry by imposing a fiduciary-only standard on advisors. Congress needs to hear from as many NAIFA members as possible about this important issue.

Also, when you're making your travel arrangements, be aware that there is a special ribbon cutting and open house at NAIFA's new national headquarters from 3-6 p.m. on December 5, following Congressional appointments.
