As a NAIFA leader, you have probably attended a past Congressional Conference. You're probably also registered to attend this year (If not, you can fix that right now!). But even if you have attended before and even if you are already registered, it's important for you to know that Congressional Conference first-timer travel/accommodations stipends of $500 still remain. NAIFA members who meet eligibility requirements and who have never attended the Congressional Conference are eligible. Please, spread the word among members in your chapter. This is a great way to get someone who is hesitant about participating in NAIFA advocacy involved. The greater our numbers, the more influence we have on Capitol Hill.

NAIFA's Congressional Conference Toolkit provides chapter leaders with logos, graphics, sample social media messages, and sample email copy you can use to promote this important advocacy event. The Congressional Conference, May 18-19, is NAIFA's signature grassroots event. The more attendees we have, the greater our influence grows among the lawmakers whose decisions directly affect insurance and financial service professionals and the consumers who rely on you. Please do your part to promote this important event to NAIFA members in your chapter.

The Congressional Conference is NAIFA's premier grassroots advocacy event and the most impactful advocacy fly-in in the insurance and financial services industry. This year, our emphasis is expanding our grassroots footprint by ramping up participation by first-time attendees. We are offering the first 100 eligible first-time registrants $500 travel vouchers to encourage their attendance. As a NAIFA leader, please help us make this event a success by 1.) registering and attending yourself, 2.) promoting the Congressional Conference at the Chapter level, and 3.) personally inviting a first-timer to join us in Washington.

NAIFA leaders are key to driving our association's grassroots advocacy success. Many of you have been politically involved for years and know the ins and outs of advocacy. You are influential in your chapters and the broader industry. 

NAIFA's grassroots is as important as ever. At the federal level, a new administration and new Congress are shaping policies, including tax reform, that will impact the insurance and financial service industry for decades. It is crucial that our voices are heard.

Summer is no time for us to take our foot off the pedal when it comes to NAIFA advocacy efforts. Last year, NAIFA members held more than 135 meetings with members of Congress and their staff in their home districts during the annual summer Congressional recess.
