NAIFA’s Congressional Conference is just around the corner, and we look forward to seeing our leaders! In the meantime, there are two new things you can mention in your conversations with members about the conference: a new Social Media Toolkit and an exciting July 4 sweepstakes.

NAIFA-Massachusetts was recently spotted on Beacon Hill for its Day on the Hill on March 25, where 26 members came together for a full day of advocacy. The group held 20 meetings with legislators, along with a few drop-ins, to discuss key priorities.

The work isn’t over yet—NAIFA-Massachusetts is supporting three bills focused on increasing Medicaid life insurance exemptions, improving broker notification before policy lapses, and ensuring faster access to medical records. Members are encouraged to reach out to their legislators and show support.

As a NAIFA leader, you have probably attended a past Congressional Conference. You're probably also registered to attend this year (If not, you can fix that right now!). But even if you have attended before and even if you are already registered, it's important for you to know that Congressional Conference first-timer travel/accommodations stipends of $500 still remain. NAIFA members who meet eligibility requirements and who have never attended the Congressional Conference are eligible. Please, spread the word among members in your chapter. This is a great way to get someone who is hesitant about participating in NAIFA advocacy involved. The greater our numbers, the more influence we have on Capitol Hill.

The NAIFA Certified Leadership Board designation is awarded to NAIFA Chapters upon completion of a live presentation of NAIFA’s 90-minute training program entitled “Empowering Chapter Leaders” by the President, President-Elect, and at least 80% of the Chapter’s Board.

NAIFA-Los Angeles was recently spotted celebrating a historic milestone, as the City of Los Angeles issued its first-ever recognition honoring the organization during Financial Literacy Awareness Month.

In partnership with local leadership, the moment reflects a growing acknowledgment of the vital role insurance and financial professionals play in supporting the economic well-being of individuals, families, and underserved communities.

All NAIFA leaders should plan to attend the Q2 State of NAIFA webinar on April 15 at 12 noon eastern. NAIFA President Christopher Gandy will provide an update on the NAIFA Experience and what we are doing to ensure members stay engaged and convince those who have not yet joined that NAIFA is an experience they cannot afford to miss. CEO Kevin Mayeux will brief attendees on our execution of the NAIFA 2030 Strategic Plan and Senior Vice President Diane Boyle will provide a policy briefing focused on developments in Washington, D.C., and state capitals around the country.

The Congressional Conference, May 18-19, is NAIFA's signature grassroots event. The more attendees we have, the greater our influence grows among the lawmakers whose decisions directly affect insurance and financial service professionals and the consumers who rely on you.
