Adam Sachs, CFP, CLU, ChFC, CLTC, AIF was recently named the Q2 Membership Hard Hat recipient. Adam has been in the industry for 28 years and a NAIFA member for 27 and half years, a loyal member since 1994 and is currently serving as Massachusetts Membership Chair. Working side by side with his membership team they have recommended several agencies as NAIFA 100% Agencies.

At the beginning of the year, Adam sat down with NAIFA-MA president, Josh O'Gara to talk about membership. They mapped out an annual plan, complete with goals and expectations of the committee, and distributed it. Being on the National Membership calls, Adam first learned of the opportunity to recruit members through the 100% Agency Program. He commented, "Learning about the 100% agency program seemed like it just made sense...it's just feeding the funnel, feeding leads, and just opening up the door...There were some companies that we had relationships with that seemed like easy opportunities to feed the funnel."

Adam gave the example of an agency in his building. "I know the leadership [in that agency] and I reached out to them. I said that their agency is really important to NAIFA and we want you to connect them to National for a conversation about some of the things that are [happening at] NAIFA and the 100% Agency program...and would they be open to receiving a call." He did not ask them for a commitment, but rather just opening the door.

The membership team in Massachusetts meets monthly and talks about all of the potential 100% Agency opportunities. Recently, when they were talking about doing some renewal outreach to current members, Adam recalled that he knew another advisor in that same firm and immediately considered that firm as a 100% Agency. He was able to connect with a member of the firm and was able to speak to them about NAIFA and the program. Adam asked about getting them connected so that their firm would get some additional publicity from participating in the program. Adam put it simply, "It's just looking for opportunities and talking about it."

Adam gave these final remarks to our membership chairs across NAIFA Nation. "We collectively need to promote NAIFA and NAIFA has done a fantastic job giving us the tools to promote NAIFA. They provide great content...great events...great relationships. And now they have given leaders the tools to make it easier to build a committee and give direction...so it's something that we need to take ownership of and it's not that hard. We have a great product and we need to collectively do the best job we can to grow this great organization."
