NAIFA President-Elect, Larry Holzberg, kicked off the June Chapter Membership Chairs Meeting with a message to attendees that it's time to roll up our sleeves and work together to increase membership! 

On Thursday, members of the Professional Development Department hosted their second meeting devoted to Chapter Programs Chairs! Brendan Bernat, Director of Professional Development, kicked off the call with important updates to NAIFA Live and the Leadership in Life Institute. Of note, Brendan highlighted the below regarding NAIFA Live:

NAIFA CEO, Kevin Mayeux, CAE, kicked off the June Chapter Leaders Webinar with a variety of updates including: the success of this year's Congressional Conference, NAIFA's work in the DEI space, increased company support of NAIFA and much more.

All Chapters are expected to have an independent review of the Chapter’s Annual Financial Reports (financial statements) at the end of the Chapter year. The independent review requires prudent testing of a sample of underlying transactions and testing the accuracy of the Annual Financial Report.

From now until Labor Day, all Friday Chapter Services meetings/webinars will be moved to Thursdays from 3:30-4:30 p.m. Eastern. Note that the Chapter Programs Chair Meeting will remain on the second Thursday at 3 p.m. Eastern. A complete schedule of all meetings/webinars is listed below.

The June 2021 Calendar of Events is here! The June calendar contains updated meeting dates and times for Chapter Leaders, Chapter Staff, Chapter Programs Chairs and Chapter Membership Chairs. In addition, the calendar also includes IFAPAC meetings, the Advisor Ambassador Program, NAIFA Live and much more! 

The Quality Member Experience (QME) restructuring, as part of the NAIFA 20/20 Strategic Plan, provided a minimum standard for Local Chapters and required those who did not meet it to become Affiliates of their State Chapter. The intent of this change was to maximize member value and utility for their membership dollars by eliminating the governance structure for these groups and placing them under the leadership of the State Chapter, while at the same time empowering them to have local leaders that direct local networking opportunities and grassroots advocacy.

State and Local Chapters should have a financial review process, whereby an annual audit or review by a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or a review by a volunteer committee occurs to evaluate the financial policies and accuracies of financial reporting. 

NAIFA President-Elect and National Membership Chair, Larry Holzberg, began this month's Membership Chairs meeting with a message of One NAIFA. Larry stated that we need to start to think about NAIFA as a franchise model, comparing NAIFA to McDonald's, so that no matter where you are at in the country, you can expect to have the same NAIFA experience. 

Last week, members of the Professional Development Department hosted the first meeting devoted to Chapter Programs Chairs! As part of the 2021 Business Implementation Plan, these new monthly calls are being developed to identify collaboration opportunities and to maximize the effectiveness of programs for our members.
