NAIFA leaders are encouraged to share this upcoming LECP Impact Day with members in their chapters and help spread the word about this valuable educational opportunity. This free virtual event will provide financial professionals with practical insights and strategies to better serve clients navigating long-term care planning.

Long-term care planning can be one of the more challenging conversations financial professionals have with clients, but it does not have to be a scary one. NAIFA’s Limited and Extended Care Planning (LECP) Center is getting an early start on Long-Term Care Awareness Month with “Don’t Be Scared of Long-Term Care,” a free virtual LECP Impact Day focused on helping financial professionals better understand the present and future of long-term care planning.

We are calling for nominations for the 2026 Kenneth Black, Jr. Leadership Award. If you know someone who demonstrates exemplary leadership qualities and has made a significant contribution toward fulfilling the core values of relationships, education, and ethics, please nominate this individual for the Kenneth Black, Jr. Leadership Award. The recipient will be chosen by a selection panel in November. Note that all recipients must be members of NAIFA and current national Board members are not eligible.

The Chapter Excellence Award (CEA) was launched in 2023 to recognize the success of those Chapters who have excelled in providing a quality member experience to their members, as determined by their Chapter Agreement Compliance, their Chapter Health Rating and membership growth. The Chapter Annual Report is more than a yearly reporting requirement—it’s a valuable tool for understanding Chapter health, tracking progress and identifying opportunities for improvement. On November 19 at 4 p.m. Eastern, join Justi Folladori, Director of Chapter Services, for a practical look at the Chapter Annual Report, including what information is collected, why it matters, how it impacts your Chapter Health Rating and how to use your results to create meaningful action.

As Chapters begin planning their 2027 calendars, now is the time to take a look at NAIFA’s 2027 Chapter Blackout Dates. The Chapter Blackout Dates identify key periods when Chapter programming is prohibited around major NAIFA events, helping Chapters avoid scheduling conflicts and maximize participation in national programs and events.

NAIFA-Maryland was recently spotted gearing up for an evening of brews, bites, and networking at Union Craft Brewery on Thursday, November 19, from 4–7 p.m. The event will celebrate a partnership with the Greater Chesapeake Foundation supporting charitable giving, with canned food donations benefiting a local food pantry and toy donations supporting GCF’s “Stuff the Train” toy drive.
