It's not too late to register for this members-only webinar. SECURE 2.0 and the RILA Act were signed into law late last year, bringing significant changes to how Americans can prepare for retirement and use registered index-linked annuities in their planning.

Participation by NAIFA members is key to our grassroots advocacy strength. NAIFA leaders can encourage members to learn how they can make a difference. Ask them to sign up to be a NAIFA Advocacy Ambassador. Ways to get involved include being a legislative contact, writing a letter to the editor or op-ed, testifying at a public hearing, visiting with your lawmaker, or hosting an event. Secure 2.0 Has Passed: What the Law Means for You & Your Clients

This week registration opened for the 2023 Congressional Conference to be held on May 22-23 in Washington, D.C. NAIFA is pleased to once again offer 300 travel stipends in the amount of $350 each. Half of the stipends have been claimed after just 2 days! Ensure that your state is represented as we head to Capitol Hill to advocate for our industry, our businesses, and our clients.

IFAPAC is sponsoring a Midterm Election Pick 'em contest. Tell us who you think will win five key races likely to determine which party controls the U.S. Senate next congressional term. All NAIFA members are eligible to play, and everyone who predicts all five races correctly will be entered into a drawing for a $100 gift card. All entries must be completed by 6 pm eastern on Nov. 7.

NAIFA’s 2022 National Leadership Conference brings our association’s leaders and aspiring leaders together face-to-face. It ensures we are all on the same page working together as One NAIFA to execute on NAIFA’s overarching strategic plan at every level. It creates momentum for 2023 as we move in lock step to grow membership, amplify NAIFA’s brand, and build a stronger membership experience. NLC and the associated Belong awards gala inspire and recognize servant leaders who are called to serve a greater purpose and understand that they are working for the success of something bigger than themselves.

NAIFA would like to feature state chapter legislative events and in-district meetings on the Advocacy in Action blog. These events show that NAIFA is a powerful advocacy influence not only in Washington, D.C., but in districts across the country.

NAIFA is encouraging members to meet with their Representatives and Senators in their home districts during the August Congressional recess. In-district meetings are a vital part of NAIFA's year-long grassroots strategy. They build on the momentum created by the Congressional Conference and lay a foundation for the Day on the Hill that is part of NAIFA's National Leadership Conference, November 13-15 this year.

NAIFA members who complete all three sections of NAIFA's Grassroots Training series are Financial Security Advocates and are eligible to display NAIFA's FSA badge. The courses familiarize NAIFA members with the political process, help them improve their grassroots advocacy skills, and provide information on advanced advocacy topics, including information for members who might consider running for office, themselves. 

So far, 31 NAIFA state chapters have pledged to promote in-district legislative meetings among their members and set goals for member meetings. The goals are based on meeting with a percentage of their state's Representatives and Senators during Congress's annual August recess.
