June is National Annuity Awareness Month and NAIFA is highlighting the great work done by NAIFA leaders, members, and lobbyists in 37 states that have implemented the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) model for annuity transactions. NAIFA chapters, along with our partners at ACLI, have worked with lawmakers and regulators in the states to get the measures passed. 

The deadline to submit nominations for the 2023 John Newton Russell Memorial Award is May 31, 2023. This award was first conferred at NAIFA’s (then NALU) annual convention in 1947. Each year since the selection committee has strived to honor an exemplary agent or advisor representing the industry's best.

NAIFA will host the 10^th annual Congressional Conference May 22-23 in Washington, D.C. The event will feature targeted advocacy training with briefings on legislative issues that affect members’ businesses and the clients they serve. Expert presenters will offer best practices for conducting Congressional meetings and tips for developing impactful long-term relationships with legislators.

Established in 1945, the John Newton Russell Memorial Award is the insurance and financial services industry’s highest honor. Recipients possess outstanding character, dedication to the profession, and meritorious service.

The National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA) is pleased to announce its move to a new headquarters location in Arlington, Virginia. The new headquarters will be located at 1000 Wilson Boulevard in Suite 1890 aptly named for the year that NAIFA was founded.

The move is another milestone in NAIFA’s transformation that began in 2019 with the membership’s vote to restructure the association. The new headquarters’ proximity to Capitol Hill will facilitate more interaction between members and legislators while also providing ample space for training events and conferences.

NAIFA's Congressional Conference, May 22-23 in Washington, D.C., is our signature grassroots advocacy event. To maximize our influence on Capitol Hill, we need to maximize attendance at this amazing event. There is still time to make your travel plans and join us. We strongly urge all NAIFA leaders to encourage colleagues in the industry to attend. We would specifically like to ensure we have representation from Hawaii, New Hampshire, and Wyoming.
