There are only TWO WEEKS left to submit your applications and nominations for one of NAIFA's awards! Yesterday, we announced our 2023 John Newton Russell Memorial Award recipient, Joe Jordan. There is still time to put your name or the name of one of your colleagues up for consideration to be aligned with Joe as a 2023 NAIFA Award recipient! All awards will be recognized during the 2023 Belong Awards Celebration to be held on December 4th during the National Leadership Conference.  Don't delay any longer, check out all of NAIFA's awards in the Talent Development Center.

We are delighted to announce that Joseph W. Jordan is the 2023 recipient of the John Newton Russell Memorial Award, the highest honor accorded by the insurance industry to a living individual who has rendered outstanding services to the institution of life insurance. The selection committee consists of representatives of the nine leading organizations in the life insurance and financial services industry.

Registration is now open for NAIFA's 2023 National Leadership Conference and Belong Awards Celebration on December 3-5 in Washington, D.C. Attendance at the 2023 NLC is crucial for all NAIFA leaders and future leaders. It is where we articulate our strategies for success and ensure we are in alignment as we move into year four of NAIFA's 2025 Strategic Plan. It is an event where we learn, grow, and inspire our peers for the betterment of our association, the entire community of insurance and financial advisors, and the consumers who rely on our products, services, and advice. The NLC is a direct call to action for NAIFA leaders. Your 2023 President, 2024 President, Membership Chair, Grassroots Chair(s), IFAPAC Chair, and Chapter Executive are all critical positions to have represented at NLC.

IFAPAC, NAIFA's political action committee, came into existence 57 years ago on August 18. Today, IFAPAC is one of the largest PACs in our industry and serves as career insurance for NAIFA members. Contributions support the campaigns of candidates running for Congress and state legislatures who understand the important role insurance and financial advisors play in providing Americans with financial security.

Connect with like-minded insurance and financial service professionals this fall during Apex East. This event is a pure-play sales summit that brings together high-performing producers and their colleagues in the financial services industry, including professionals in the fields of estate planning law, accounting, financial technology, performance coaching, wellness, and others. Apex East will be on October 24, 2023, in the new NAIFA headquarters building in the Rosslyn Business District of Arlington, VA.

The Association of African American Financial Advisors (AAAA) will hold its Annual V.I.S.I.O.N conference on September 13-15 in Washington, D.C. NAIFA Live is a great member benefit that keeps NAIFA members connected and informed. This month, NAIFA Live features two extraordinary presenters, Brock Jolly, CFP, CLU, LACP, ChFC, CLTC, CASL, RICP, and Tom Henske, CFP, ChFC, CLU, CTS, CFS, CLTC, CES. Many of you know Brock as NAIFA's National Treasurer, but he is also the Founder of The College Funding Coach® a program designed to help families develop informed strategies to prepare for paying for college. Tom has been a leader in the financial industry for nearly three decades and is the Founder of Total Cents, a program that helps parents teach their kids about money.

NAIFA is proud to release the results of our 2023 Member Survey. We are pleased to report that the number of participants doubled from our 2022 survey. The more participants, the more accurate our data. The data collected from our survey helps NAIFA to better understand our members, the clients you serve, and how the association can better serve you.

August means that Congress is out of session and Senators and Representatives return home for in-district working sessions. It also means that NAIFA members are participating in In-District meetings as a critical part of NAIFA's grassroots strategy. NAIFA announced the kickoff of the meetings earlier this week with a press release.
