As the House Passes the PRO Act, NAIFA Continues to Work for Changes

The House of Representatives passed the Protecting the Right to Organize (PRO) Act (H.R. 842), a sweeping piece of labor legislation. Among its provisions, the PRO Act as passed by the House would reclassify many insurance and financial professionals as “employees” rather than “independent contractors” under federal labor law. NAIFA argues that such a reclassification will disrupt insurance and financial services business models and limit consumer access to diverse offerings of products, services, and advice.

Reminder! NAIFA Now Provides State Bill Tracking

NAIFA partners with one of the best state legislative tracking services in the country and is now able to offer each state a customized bill tracker (see, for example, NAIFA's bill tracker for New York State). States can either link to the bill tracking site by copying and pasting a web link or by embedding the tracker into their website using html code.

The Fortis Agency Becomes the First 100% NAIFA Agency

NAIFA is offering a new membership called the NAIFA 100% Agency program. The new program provides a group membership, a new logo, a promise to be politically active and additional publicity as part of the new membership program.

 

The new program was rolled out on the January Membership Chairs call.  If you have an agency that is interested, please refer the lead to Dennis Cuccinelli and/or send to recruitment@naifa.org.

NAIFA is pleased to announce that The Fortis Agency, headquartered in Holmdel, NJ at the beautiful Bellworks Complex, has become a 100% NAIFA Agency. Under the new membership program, The Fortis Agency has enrolled all of their advisors as NAIFA members and enrolled them in NAIFA’s grassroots advocacy programs.
