CHAPTER PLAYBOOK

Engagement

Members have different needs and motives. If their needs are met, they are more likely to stay if:

  1. They feel valued.
  2. The programming opportunities are valuable, relevant and are meeting their career development needs.
  3. They receive recognition for their efforts and achievements.
  4. There is a sense of belonging and community.
  5. It fulfills an internally-oriented individual to do the right thing.

Throughout the year, NAIFA provides members with numerous opportunities for engagement at every level.

Member Benefits Webinars – Gives members a deep dive on all the benefits of membership. The webinar is given by the subject matter expert and available for on-demand review.

Programming, Events and Professional Development – Provide quality value programming at the National, State, Local and Affiliate levels, virtually and in-person, for the benefit of members.

Governmental Relations – Engage members in advocacy efforts and programming to build their loyalty to the industry’s cause.

Talent Development Center – Provide opportunities through the Talent Development Center for members to distinguish themselves through professional affiliations and credentials.

  • YAT Program – Create more programming through the YAT program to better engage members.
  • Diversity Program – Create more programming through the Diversity & Inclusion task force to engage members and recruit more sponsor dollars.

LUTCF and LACP – Provide opportunities for members to distinguish themselves with professional certifications (LUTCF and LACP).

4 Under 40  – NAIFA annually recognizes four individuals under 40 who are making a name for themselves in our industry.  Chapters are encouraged to adopt this at the State and Local level as well.

Chapter Programming – Engage members at the State, Local and Affiliate level to facilitate networking and relationship building.

Micro-Volunteering – Provide opportunities for people to volunteer, meet people and become an active contributor so they can see the impact and value of membership.

Partners

NAIFA advocates for individuals and companies to belong to professional associations, service/religious organizations and charitable organizations. The culture of belonging is one that we believe is the basis for healthy communities. In addition to NAIFA, our typical member belongs to a variety of other organizations which is why we think our members are even more amazing for the time and talent they consistently dedicate to NAIFA each year.

To ensure a stronger community, we partner with a variety of not-for-profit and for-profit organizations. Our partner program includes corporate partners, education partners, advocacy association partners, DEI partners and marketing partners.
