CHAPTER PLAYBOOK

Chapter President-Elect

The President-Elect should use their term to prepare for their Presidency. Apart from outlining the goals and expectations for the next administrative year, special duties may involve evaluating current activities, developing a strategic plan or succession plan, or recruiting board candidates. The President-Elect may also preside over board meetings or membership meetings in the absence of the President. Duties include:

  1. Evaluating current activities—become familiar with the Chapter’s policies, activities and the volunteers who lead those activities. Determine what your Chapter can do better in the future.
  2. Preparing for leadership by consulting current/past leaders and Chapter Staff.
  3. Review the leaders section of the NAIFA website to learn what resources are available to you.
  4. Be sure to read NAIFA’s leadership communications and attend webinars so you are in the know on NAIFA programs and activities.
  5. Perform other duties as assigned by the President.
  6. Advise and assist the President in staffing Chapter leadership teams.
  7. Perform the duties of the President in the absence or disability of the President.
  8. Review the Chapter's Bylaws to make certain they are up-to-date.
  9. Review the budget and financial activity to gauge what changes need to be made for your Presidential year.
