CHAPTER PLAYBOOK

Essential Position Functions


Governance, Mission & Strategy:
 Participate with the Board in developing a multi-year plan to guide the organization; identify, assess and inform the Board of internal and external issues that affect the organization; act as a professional advisor to the Board on all aspects of the organization's activities; and support the Board by preparing meeting agendas and supporting materials.

Financial Performance and Viability: Responsible for the fiscal integrity of the Chapter; developing and managing the Chapter budget; identifying new sources of revenue and opportunities to minimize expenditures; and providing accurate monthly financial statements. The Executive Director can serve as the Chapter's Chief Financial Officer and should be able to prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financials (as well as tax returns). 

Operational Planning and Management: Develop an operational plan based on established goals and objectives identified in the multi-year plan; oversee the efficient and effective day-to-day operation of the organization; review and draft policies for the approval of the Board and review and prepare procedures to implement the organizational policies.

Program Planning and Management: Manage the planning, implementation, delivery and evaluation of the organization's programs and services in support of the NAIFA mission.

Communications: Manage the development, production and distribution of Chapter print and electronic communications, maintain website and social media channels and manage media relations.

Program Development and Management: Determine program requirements; define the long-term strategy of the program; create program development and implementation plans; develop pricing strategies and revenue models; develop and implement program marketing plans and campaigns; develop program collateral materials; and drive ongoing improvement in program, awareness, revenue generation and profitability.

Membership: Implement NAIFA Chapter success standards for membership recruitment, new member onboarding, retention/engagement and recognition.
