NAIFA Emails State Officials in Recognition of Life Insurance Awareness Month

Diane Boyle, VP of Government Relations, recently sent emails to Congressional offices, state legislators and insurance commissioners that invited them to join NAIFA members in celebrating Life Insurance Awareness Month. Below is a text of the letter:

Dear Commissioner/Sen./Rep.

Thank you for working on practical solutions to provide consumers with financial protection during COIVD-19 relief and economic recovery.

This September, I invite you to join the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisers in recognizing Life Insurance Awareness Month (LIAM). The annual event sponsored by Life Happens and supported by NAIFA helps consumers understand life insurance's role in achieving financial security. Life insurance has always been and is now an essential source of economic stability in times of economic crisis.  Watch Brooke Shields’ important message about life insurance.

NAIFA has been a trusted resource for consumers for 130 years. Our members, in 97 percent of state legislative districts, are licensed professionals who work with clients to identify financial needs and provide products and services to secure their future. As you continue to give constituents with financial literacy tools, please know that NAIFA’s consumer website www.FinancialSecurity.org offers individuals and businesses information regarding risk protection, including life insurance and how to find licensed, knowledgeable, ethical professionals to assist with financial security planning. NAIFA has been at the forefront of seeking diversity in the advisor community. Today, more women, minorities, and young people enter the insurance and financial planning profession than ever before. That same diversity extends to the marketplace—providing consumers with an opportunity to work with an agent or advisor specializing in the minority and immigrant communities, the needs of young families, or women.

We look forward to continuing our work with you to expand financial security to more Main Street Americans and businesses.

Sincerely,

Diane Boyle
