A Signed Commitment to Serve

Volunteering on a board can be an honor and an opportunity, but it also comes with responsibility. Responsibility that includes fiduciary duties to represent member interests, protect and build resources, as well as advance the mission of the organization. However, it is often said that once you are on a board, you don't have to do anything. 

To combat this notion, David Aaker and Bob Harris recently published an article explaining why board orientation should be mandatory, as well as a signed commitment form from volunteer leaders.
