Shining Stars: IFAPAC

Written by Stephanie Sheridan | 2/3/21 7:31 PM

We are introducing a new type of content in our Leaders' blog called Shining Stars whereby we highlight the great work that we're doing across NAIFA Nation. Here's what we've spotted recently in terms of great work in the area of IFAPAC.

Utah

Utah Chair Mike Stevens (loyal member since 1971) is mailing thank you cards to all NAIFA Utah current and lapsed IFAPAC members, each personally signed by Mike and Scott Johnson, President Elect.  The cards and postage will be paid from the NAIFA Utah IFAPAC Administrative account.

Mike said, “The point of this activity is specifically to say thank you without a suggestion of a solicitation.” Showing appreciation encourages active contributors to continue to contribute and reminds lapsed contributors to do so. This is an easy way to reach out to members!

Iowa

Iowa IFAPAC Chair Craig Adamson (loyal member since 2014) knows the importance of recognizing the good work and achievements of members, both state and local. He creatively acknowledged current contributors while also encouraging lapsed and non-contributors to join in the cause. Craig sent chapter members the following email which we've modified to adapt for your chapter’s use that includes a link to a video highlighting Iowa’s achievements:

Craig's Best Practices Email:

Just a quick video message to all my NAIFA colleagues to congratulate you on a job well done!  I’ve also attached a special PAC newsletter (download the PDF).

You can also watch my video message to provide an update.

A big thank you to all who stepped up to contribute $10 and $25 monthly.  More members like you, doing less will help us be successful long-term! Those smaller monthly contributions mean we have already raised $XXX YTD in 2021.  We are currently leading the nation!

For those who didn’t contribute in 2020, you have over XXX colleagues to thank for standing in the gap on your behalf.  Nearly all those members started their contributions at the $10 and $25 monthly levels. Over time, they jumped up to Bronze, Silver, and even higher levels.

With your help, we can get (state name) to the #1 spot.  Start 2021 off right by signing up to contribute today.  Follow this link to be on track so you can stand in the gap with your fellow NAIFA-(state name) members: www.naifa.org/ifapac

With gratitude,
Craig Adamson

Always Use the Disclaimer

Always remember that you must include the mandatory required disclaimer language when making solicitations. If NAIFA Massachusetts members are not included, please remove the last sentence to avoid confusion for other states. Here is the disclaimer again:

Disclaimer: Contributions to IFAPAC are voluntary and are used to contribute to campaigns of candidates for elective office. Your contributions will be divided between your state chapter’s IFAPAC and IFAPAC National, if you have directed NAIFA to do so. You can contribute more or less than the suggested amount. You have the right to refuse to contribute without reprisal. The amount contributed will not benefit or disadvantage you in any way. Corporate contributions to IFAPAC’s political fund are prohibited. Contributions to IFAPAC are not deductible for federal income tax purposes. For NAIFA-Massachusetts members, the division of funds will be 60%/40% up to the state limit of $500 per calendar year.
