After another successful Congressional Conference and Day on the Hill, NAIFA advocacy is only speeding up as we head into NAIFA’s summer in-district meetings. The upcoming Congressional recess provides NAIFA members with the opportunity to continue building those relationships with their lawmakers and staff outside of Washington, D.C.

It is important for NAIFA members, especially during an election year, to continue their political involvement with their lawmakers. If we don’t talk about the issues we’re facing as an industry, who will? Due to the upcoming elections, now more than ever is a great opportunity to interact with your legislators and discuss important issues affecting your business and clients. This will motivate them to move in the right direction as it relates to potential impactful legislation.

Why is an ongoing relationship so important? At NAIFA, we pride ourselves on our advocacy efforts and want to make sure our lawmakers continue to understand the financial services industry. The hustle and bustle of Capitol Hill is exciting, however, meeting in the district allows for a more personalized and one-on-one experience. Through NAIFA’s in-district meetings, you get to be a working part of our democracy. This year, we are making a push for the LARGEST in-district meeting effort to date. These meetings allow us to advance our advocacy message and we can’t wait for you to make a difference.
